With most other databases on the market, WebObjects is something they 'support'. With FrontBase, Inc. and Frontbase™, they've specifically added things to their database to work better with EOF and WebObjects.
For instance, FrontBase has a type 'BYTE&' that they added specifically to support EOF's automatic 12-byte binary key generation algorithm. So you can add records to the database with one less database transaction.
