3.4. Migration

FrontBase has tools for importing from FileMaker, MySQL, OpenBase, and Sybase.

FileMaker migration is a two step process. The tables of a FileMaker database are exported from FileMaker. The exported files are moved to MacOS X, where an application imports them into FrontBase.

The MySQL migration tool uses JDBC to extract table data from a MySQL database and import it into a FrontBase database.

OpenBase and Sybase are supported directly through extensions to the SQL 92 INSERT command.
